Specialist digital publishing group, Green Star Media, has announced the appointment of Alan Pearey as the new editor of Rugby Coach Weekly.
Green Star Media is a digital publishing company dedicated to providing expert coaching resources for grass roots and professional sports teams worldwide.
Andrew Griffiths, Managing Director of Green Star Media said “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Alan Pearey as Editor of Rugby Coach Weekly. An experienced national and local newspaper sports journalist, Alan joins us from IPC’s Rugby World, where he was Deputy Editor. He knows Rugby Coach Weekly exceptionally well, having edited Dan Cottrell’s coaching column for many years.”
With the Rugby World Cup taking place in England in 2015, it’s likely that Rugby Coach Weekly will ride the crest of the wave and Pearey’s appointment couldn’t be better timed.
Pearey, 49, said “This is a really exciting opportunity. Green Star demonstrates excellence at digital publishing and its rugby coaching products are the best on the market. I’ll be putting all my 25 years of sports journalism experience into the magazine.”
Pearey was IPC’s Writer of the Year in 2012, spent eight years running the weekend rugby desk at The Sunday Times and as a qualified referee, he has chaired the rugby judging panel for the British Sports Book Awards since 2008
